Disputes, Right Of Reply And Corrections

Send POST /v1/dispute with this JSON, or email the same details to botsrated@gmail.com. It is free.

A person reads every dispute. We aim to re-test the host within 48 hours of reading it, and to answer within 7 days if you left a contact.

If we confirm a record is wrong because of our mistake, we correct what we show and tell you. Signed receipts are never edited; a correction is added next to them. If you want a short reply shown next to your data, say so in your statement. We publish it after review, without your contact details. A published reply stays public with the record. The rest of a dispute, including any contact you gave, is kept for 90 days.

Failing test-purchase results are held privately. We publish one only after we have sent notice to a contact the seller publishes (in its listing or on its site) and at least 72 hours have passed. If we can't reach the seller, the result stays unpublished.

Our automatic check sends one unpaid request per checked route, usually about once every 30 minutes, every few minutes for busy, recently changed and paid-alert-plan services (about every 35 seconds for up to 100 of them), and about once a day for services with no payment request for 7 days, with User-Agent BotsRated-probe/0.3. To opt out, send a dispute (or an email) with the statement "opt out". We handle opt-outs by hand within 7 days: we stop checks and test purchases of your host and remove it from listings and rankings. Receipts we already signed stay in the archive.

Resent Payment Check. Not running today. If we start it, it will cover only sellers who opt in, and nothing will be sent to any other service. There is nothing to opt out of; to stop all checks of your host, use the opt-out above.

If A Resent Payment Were Served Again. If a service serves the request again, that is a security weakness, not a rating: we report it privately to the service as a security report. We never publish it under the service's name until at least 90 days after we have reached them, and never if we can't reach them (then we publish, at most, anonymous totals). Asking for a new payment and refusing are neutral results and could be shown. See also security.
